Nice to meet you.

I’ll be honest. This page has been blank for such a long time and I’ve agonised over what to write here. I want it to be an introduction, but really, it’s not about me – it’s all about you and how I might be able to help you.

I’m Laura. Wife to Andy and Mummy to Lily, Daisy & Poppy. I live in Shropshire and I’m on a mission… to brighten the world, one person at a time.

I’ve spent my entire adult life struggling with my weight and over the years I’ve tried every diet under the sun. In 2015, weighing about 19 stone, a family game of Badminton made me realise that something had to change – my 85 year old Grandma was considerably more fit and able than me, and I was 33.

After a lifetime avoiding exercise, in 2016 I went out for my first run. I could barely manage 200 metres before I needed to walk. I couldn’t breathe, my legs felt heavy and my tummy hurt. But, deep inside me, there was the tiniest spark of interest – something made me want to try again the next day and see if I could go a bit further.

Now, I’m a marathoner. I am physically fit and helping inspire other people to get active is my biggest passion in life. If you want to read a bit more about me then please have a look at my early blog entries – they tell my story in more detail.
