“I set myself the goal of completing a Triathlon this year and had begun training when I realised just how much work I needed to do. I had been a 25 minute 5k runner for years and could never break that barrier by more than a few seconds. I knew I needed some help and couldn’t have picked anyone better than Laura.

She listened to what I wanted to achieve, what time I had available and built a manageable program around it all. Looking ahead, Laura even took into account a new baby for me on the horizon!

I completed my first Sprint Triathlon yesterday and don’t even recognise some of my times. I have literally halved my swim time in 6 months (‪14:12‬ over the 750m distance), while gradually increasing my endurance on the bike. I have smashed the 25 minute 5k barrier, with a new PB of 21 minutes.

I have missed sessions, of course, but never once was I made to feel guilty about it. Laura knew everything I had on my plate and was considerate, inspiring and always encouraging.

“During the off season I wanted to increase my strength training to put me in a better place for a marathon PB attempt and in preparation for Ironman.

I spoke with Laura, who put together a training plan I could do at home, spending 30 – 40 minutes two or three times a week working on upper body and core strength.

Three months into the plan I ran the Tokyo marathon in 3:01.09, smashing that marathon PB goal, now four months to keep building to Ironman.
